I've always had a fixation with the image. I knew it since I was a child, in the days when my father used to take me to work with him in a photo lab that my family owned in Bogotá city, Colombia. There, I spent hours and hours watching hundreds of photographs of strangers; people who had entrusted the development of their photographs to this family business. Meanwhile, I used to watch how to make portafolio books and portraits.

Now, after more than 12 years working in the industry, I've learned about the power of the image. A power beyond beauty and aesthetics; a power capable to touch, to awaken awareness, to change the future, capable of changing lives and entire societies.

After completing my studies in Cinema and Photography, I worked as Director and Director of Photography for a public TV station in my home country, Colombia. We made mostly documentaries and cultural shows.
Working with tight budgets and doing all by myself (directing, lighting, camera operating) was an invaluable experience for me. Over the years, I could discover my own style, my own way to tell stories, and develop good skills as camera operator.

My first work for the big screen was as Director of Photography on the feature film "Silencio en el paraíso", (Silence in Paradise), released in 2011, which was awarded Best Movie at the Málaga Spanish Film Festival in 2012.
Then I reprised my role as DP in the movie "La justa medida" (The Right Size) in 2013, which was screened at the Chicago Latino Film Festival in 2015.

In 2015 I launched my first feature film as director, "El último aliento"
(The Last Breath), exhibited in theaters in Colombia by Cine Colombia and Cinemark.
Then I directed the comedy "Operación Piroberta", (Operation Piroberta) in 2017, "Periodo de prueba" (Trial Period) in 2018 and  the political satire

"La candidata" (The Candidate) in 2019. These three films were distributed in Colombia by Dimond Films.

I'm currently working in the post-production of my fifth feature film as director, "It's a match",  filmed in New York City and expected to be released next summer on 2019.
